Letitia VanSant & David McKindley-Ward

Back in 2019, Letitia VanSant was hot property and tipped by many to be on the path a very bright future.

Paste magazine named her as “one to watch,” AmericanaUK said she was “a great song-writer with a glorious voice” and Pop Matters singled her out as a “rising Americana star.”

Tracks from both her Gut It To The Studs and Circadian albums won a ton of radio attention on both sides of the Atlantic. When we first brought her over accompanied by long-time collaborator, David McKindley-Ward, they entranced audiences and promoters alike.

We had a three-week run of UK dates lined up for a return, but the pandemic rolled in to spoil the party and stop the momentum in its tracks.

Then, in those dark and difficult times, they each continued to work on new material with fresh ideas and new inspiration.

Now, as you may have heard from the attention they’ve been getting from the UK media, they are back with a bang, determined to pick up where they left off and, boy, oh boy, have they done that in style!

Their latest album, Eye Of The Storm, was instantly featured on many important radio shows. On his BBC Radio 2 Folk Show, Mark Radcliffe was one of the first to be singing their praises.

He told listeners: “It’s folky and intimate and creates a finely-crafted atmosphere not unlike Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, and there can be no higher praise than that!”

We all search for and admire sincerity and look up to those who care about where we’re heading – and how.

Built with a backbone that was already aching to work with those being marginalised or less fortunate, she increasingly learned that we all need to come together to do more for each other. Music has the power to move us and she wanted to move mountains.

“Her gentle singsong may strike you as sweet, but listen closer, and you’ll realise she is spitting fire,” said Paste magazine.
